Settings

The Settings tab controls organization defaults and feature availability. These settings affect the behavior of the workspace as a whole, so they should be changed by an owner or administrator who understands the expected operating model.

Use Settings to manage:

  • default agent behavior,
  • default transcription AI,
  • recording availability,
  • organization-level availability for public chat, webhooks, API keys, and recordings,
  • Microsoft Entra group synchronization.

Default Agent

The Default agent selector stores the organization's default chatbot. The selected agent must belong to the current organization. If a Microsoft Teams channel or another external entry point needs a fallback agent and no channel-specific agent is set, Siesta AI can use this organization default.

If no default agent is selected, the organization does not have an explicit default fallback. In that case, external or onboarding flows may need to resolve an agent by their own logic.

Recordings and Transcription

The Settings tab separates recording availability from transcription processing:

  • Recordings controls whether the Recordings module is available to users.
  • Select AI for transcription chooses the ChatBot-scoped AI/model connection used when recordings are transcribed.
  • Enable Recordings in the recording card controls whether transcription is enabled for the selected connection.

The save rules are strict:

  • The transcription connection must exist.
  • The transcription connection must be a ChatBot-scoped connection.
  • If transcription is enabled, a transcription connection must be configured.

If the save action fails after enabling transcription, first check whether a valid ChatBot-scoped model connection is selected.

Feature Availability

The Feature availability section controls organization-level modules:

  • Public Chat: allows public chat surfaces to be enabled for agents that support them.
  • Webhooks: allows webhook-based workflow or integration entry points.
  • Api Keys: allows the organization API key page and API key management feature.
  • Recordings: allows the recording module and related recording workflows.

Disabling a feature at organization level hides or blocks the corresponding module even if a specific agent, workflow, or user would otherwise be configured to use it.

The Sync Microsoft Entra Groups action is used when users sign in through Microsoft Entra and groups or policies already exist there. Synchronization brings those assignments into Siesta AI so they can be reflected in users and teams.

When Entra sync is active, the Settings tab shows the sync status and can disable Microsoft group synchronization. Disabling sync clears the stored Microsoft tenant link for group synchronization; SSO provider settings are managed separately in SSO Config.

Recommended order:

  1. Configure Microsoft SSO in SSO Config.
  2. Save the organization settings.
  3. Start Entra group synchronization.
  4. Review the resulting Users and Teams.

Troubleshooting

If Settings cannot be saved:

  • check that the selected default agent still exists and belongs to the organization,
  • check that transcription is not enabled without a transcription connection,
  • check that the transcription connection is an AI/model connection available for agents,
  • check whether the relevant organization feature is enabled before looking for it elsewhere in the product.
