Use Tasks to Track Work
Tasks help you track work that should continue beyond a single chat response. In Siesta AI, tasks are organized by Task workspace and can be reviewed in Table or Kanban view.
When to Use Tasks
Use a task when:
- the work has a clear next step,
- someone needs to review or complete it later,
- the work should move through statuses,
- the task came from a conversation and needs follow-up.
Working With Tasks
Open the task list, review the summary and status, and use search, source agent filter, status filter, and the Table / Kanban switch to find the right item. In the task detail, check the summary, status, prompt, and assigned agent before running or updating the task.
Keep task summaries specific. A summary like Review Q2 HubSpot export for missing owners is easier to manage than Check data.
Agents with the Task Management system tool can create a task from a conversation, but only when you explicitly ask them to do it. Use this when the next step is clear and should be tracked outside the current chat.
Statuses and Actions
Tasks can be Todo, In progress, In review, or Done. Use In review when the output needs a human check before it is treated as complete.
The task detail may include links to the latest task conversation and the source conversation. Use these links when the task context is unclear.
The Run button sends the prompt to the selected agent. Confirm the selected agent before running tasks that may call tools.
Useful Task Recipes
Create a Follow-Up From Chat
- Finish the conversation until the next action is clear.
- Create a task with a short summary.
- Put the exact next-step instructions in the task prompt.
- Select the agent that should process it.
- Use Todo if it is waiting, or In review if an output needs approval.
Track Review Work
Use In review for drafted emails, Jira tickets, reports, or workflow outputs that need a person to approve them before they are used.
Recover Missing Context
Open the source conversation from the task detail when the prompt is too short, the task refers to an uploaded file, or the agent output does not match what you expected.
